People are laughing. People are angry. I'm not terribly concerned about it. Personally, I'm betting the hypocracy and cognitive friction between who Mary is and what she represents will cause the child to implode before its second birthday.
No harm, no foul.
On a related note, I'm going to encourage you all not to do a Google Image Search for "lesbian fetus" while your coworkers are walking by no matter how badly you want to include a graphic in your blog entry.
